Hi everyone. Has anyone here done a move from Florida to New York? I had this question recently - I got a job offer in Brooklyn, and it seemed cool, but I don't even know where to start in terms of logistics. I heard about National Movers, that they are supposedly reliable and work all over the country, including popular destinations like ours. Maybe some of you used their services? I'm interested in everything: how they calculated the cost, how they packed things, were there any delays in time and in general how much it really does not turn into hell with boxes and stress. Share your experiences, I will be grateful for any advice. So far, to be honest, I feel like I'm going to Mars.

It was interesting to read, thank you. I am from the Bronx, and just the other day I saw a National Movers truck at the house next door. Apparently, someone moved too. Apparently, the Florida - New York route is really one of their most popular.
I understand you very well - my husband, two kids and I moved from Orlando to Queens last November, and at first it also seemed like mission impossible. Especially if you, like us, try to plan everything in advance, and not at the last minute. I can tell you step by step how it was for us, maybe it will be useful to you. We were choosing between three companies, but settled on National Movers because they responded quickly, offered flexible dates and in general communication was on the level - without this classic nonsense with "call later" and "need to check with the manager". First, we calculated the approximate cost on the website - they have a calculator, and it, by the way, turned out to be quite accurate. Then the coordinator contacted us, and we discussed the details - what we were moving, which floors, whether an elevator is needed, packing, disassembling / assembling furniture, and so on. I highly recommend not skimping on packaging from them - they really know how to do it. Especially if there is equipment or glass. Everything was transported by truck: loading took half a day, unloading in New York — a little more, because there were difficulties with parking (after all, Queens is not a private sector). But everything was done without damage or losses. Travel time was 4 days, and this includes weekends. The price was about $5,200 for a three-room truck, including all options. Honestly, I expected it to be more. National Movers showed themselves well, and I would recommend them, especially if you want everything under control, but without nerves. Moving from Florida to New York is certainly not a walk in the park, but with good logistics, everything is possible.
